Grey Crowned Cranes as a Powerful Flagship Species for improving Livelihoods of last-mile Communities in East Africa

As the East Africa Regional Director for the non-profit, the International Crane Foundation (ICF), Dr Aldabert Aine-omucunguzi works hard to keep Cranes and their habitat safe. This hour long presentation will showcase ICF’s interventions to secure cranes, wetlands and catchments are helping to improve the livelihoods of last-mile (forgotten) communities in East Africa. Such communities would otherwise exacerbate crane habitat degradation in their quest for survival.
