Join Audubon’s Rowe Sanctuary on Thursday, October 7, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm CT for a magical evening of painting on the bank of the Platte River. Local artist Nicole Mittman will guide participants through a glow-in-the-dark painting of cranes silhouetted by a sunset. Tickets are $20 per person to cover the costs of painting supplies.

“This event will be a great opportunity for people to experience fall at the sanctuary while learning a fun, new painting technique,” says Amanda Hegg, event organizer and conservation program associate. “The sunset will appear to be pink, orange, and yellow during the daylight, but will glow aqua, blue, and green in the dark.”

Chairs and tables will be set up to provide a socially-distanced, relaxing experience. Participants are encouraged to dress in layers and, since the event runs through suppertime, are welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages. All experience levels are welcome to attend the event, but it is intended for those who are 14 and older.
