Paint a Fall Nature Scene at Audubon’s Rowe Sanctuary

The group painting program, Paint on the Platte, starts at 2 pm next Saturday

People can follow along in painting a fall nature scene at The Iain Nicolson Audubon Center at Rowe Sanctuary on Saturday, October 10 from 2-5 pm. Paint on the Platte is a collaborative effort by Audubon’s Rowe Sanctuary and the Museum of Nebraska Art (MONA) that will be led by volunteer artist, Laura Jensen.

“It’s exciting to work with MONA on such a fun event,” said Beka Yates, education manager for Audubon’s Rowe Sanctuary. “People will be able to relax next to the river and just paint with Laura. It’s perfect for everyone from beginners to expert painters.”

This program was not crafted for children; participants should be at least 14 years old to attend. Registration is limited to 15 people and is $20 per person to cover the costs of the sustainable, organic paint and other supplies. Easels will be placed 8 feet apart, but masks will be required for instances where social distancing is not possible. Participants are welcome to bring snacks and drinks to enjoy during the painting.

The rain date for Paint on the Platte will be Sunday, October 11 at 2 pm. All registrants will be informed ahead of time if this is the case.
