As a COVID-19 precaution, the Iain Nicolson Audubon Center at Rowe Sanctuary will host A River Runs Through It, the annual fundraising event, virtually this year. The event will feature an online auction that opens at 6 pm CT on Thursday, October 1, plus a special video presentation at 6 pm on Saturday, October 3.
In previous years, the event was hosted on the sanctuary next to the Platte River. This year, it will be hosted virtually through the online auction platform BetterUnite where (in addition to auction items) a special video presentation will be posted.
“We do wish we could host everyone in person at the sanctuary” said Bill Taddicken, center director for Audubon’s Rowe Sanctuary, “but it’s important to keep people safe right now.” This event provides funding to “help us continue our work on the river for birds and other wildlife.”
Some items up for bid on the online auction include a gourmet dinner for up to eight people in Rowe’s new Discovery Station by the river, a portfolio critique from National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore, local art pieces, and more. The auction will close at 8 pm CT on October 3.
