Audubon’s Rowe Sanctuary and the Rustic Patch Host Crane Painting Class

Participants will learn to paint a glow-in-the-dark crane and sunset scene

Join Rowe Sanctuary from 2:00-4:00 pm CT on Saturday, March 5, 2022, for a fun afternoon of painting at the Rustic Patch in Kearney. Local artist Nicole Mittman will guide participants through a glow-in-the-dark painting of a crane silhouetted by a sunset. Registration for the event is required, and there will be a $20 registration fee to cover the costs of painting supplies.

“This event will be a great opportunity for people to learn more about Rowe Sanctuary’s crane conservation efforts while learning a fun, new painting technique,” says Amanda Hegg, the event organizer. “The sunset will appear to be pink, orange, and yellow during the daylight, but will glow aqua, blue, and green in the dark.”

Chairs and tables will be set up to provide a socially distanced, relaxing experience. Participants are welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages. All experience levels are welcome to attend the event, but this event is intended for those who are 14 and older.
