For over 40 years, Audubon's Rowe Sanctuary has protected critical habitat within the Platte River Valley for birds and other wildlife that depend on it. Rowe Sanctuary continues to grow as a leader in conservation planning and advocacy work in the region, and works in cooperation with several conservation organizations to provide suitable habitat on the river for Sandhill Cranes, Whooping Cranes, Interior Least Terns and Piping Plovers, and nesting habitat for grassland obligate bird species.
