Bird Walk along the Platte

May 02, 2021 - Gibbon, NE

Please register in advance as space is limited

Join a Rowe Sanctuary staff member or volunteer for a guided bird walk along the Platte River and enjoy the sights and sounds of the birds. Use the iNaturalist App under the Nebraska Bird Month Birdblitz to identify and record bird sightings or audible calls. Species of interest for this weekend are waterfowl and shorebirds although this event is not limited to these species so please record ANY bird observation. This event is FREE but registration is required as we will be limiting the group to only 15 participants per day. Masks are required during the walk at all times.

This event is part of the Nebraska May Birdblitz Collaboration. Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever of Nebraska, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, Fontenelle Forest, Audubon at Rowe Sanctuary, Audubon of Omaha, and Bird Conservancy of the Rockies join to educate and provide hands-on experiences in learning about and protecting our bird populations.

Register and join in community-based science:
