The Beauty and Benefits of Native Prairie Plants: How to harvest and sow Nebraska native prairie seeds

September 26, 2019 - Gibbon, NE

No registration is required. Meet at Rowe Sanctuary.

Join Audubon’s Rowe Sanctuary staff for an afternoon in the early autumn sun to learn more about the beauty and benefits of planting natives at this informative “Plants for Birds” event!  It’s an opportunity for those interested in native plants or restoration projects to learn how the seed is collected and prepared for dispersal.  We’ll cover the benefits of using locally collected seed, how it’s used at Rowe, and some basic native plant identification. Participants should wear long pants and sturdy shoes or boots, and bring anything needed for an afternoon outdoors.  No reservations required.
